Golden St. John’s Wort is a small, dense, upright, mounded deciduous shrub that is noted for its large showy golden yellow flowers and attractive blue-green foliage. It grows to 3-4’ tall and as wide. Easily grown in average, medium, wel-drained soils i sun or part shade. Prefers rich, sandy loams. Tolerant of some drought. Flowers bloom on new wood. Light pruning after flowering encourages a new flush of leaves.

Bright yellow flowers occur en masse in mid-summer. Leaves turn a respectable yellow in the fall before falling off. This is a great plant for massing or edging in full sun or light shade and average soil. It is easy to grow and is low maintenance. A semi-evergreen shrub with blue-green foliage and yellow powder puff-like flowers golden flowers in summer. An attractive and drought tolerant round mounded shrub with red-brown exfoliating branches and blue-green leaves, it is a fine garden plant for the sunny bed or border.
